Heat Treat Operator I
3rd Shift, 10:30PM-7:00AM, Sunday - Thursday
Hourly rate $18.50 - $20.00 DOE (plus 20% shift differential)
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays as needed

RESPONSIBILITY:
- Controls heat treating furnaces to alter the properties of selected materials.
JOB DUTIES:
- Verify that lot cards have all previous operations signed off.
- Place parts on racks, in trays, or baskets and place them on conveyor or loads them directly into furnace.
- Perform hardness checks as per work instructions.
- Adjust furnace controls to heat parts to prescribed time and temperature.
- Operate furnaces, draw ovens, pit draws, and any other related equipment.
- Parts are quenched within furnace and then removed after prescribed time.
- Records time that parts are removed from furnace.
- Unloads racks, baskets, washer hearth bars, rollers, and heat shields.
- Replaces above and set up for next load.
- Complete all assigned P.M.’s and daily checklists.
- Area is to be kept in a neat and orderly manner.
EDUCATION &/ OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- Basic mathematical and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to be fork truck certified.
- Confined Space training is necessary.
