ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under guidance, set thermal couple, prepare load per optimal heat distribution of load
- · Load batch loads for optimum productivity
- ·Set up and/or operator heat treat ovens
- · Ensure quality by observing condition and position of material during the process
- · Start and shut down furnaces by setting controls, valves, lighting pilots and burners
- · Responsible for heat treat and process accuracy and uniformity survey
- · Prepare parts for loading into furnace, including wiping and final cleaning as required
- · Report any unusual conditions in operation, equipment or material to supervisor
- · Must have an understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions

Qualifications and requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Take hardness measurements and document results
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- High attention to detail
- Basic knowledge/interpretation of technical drawings
Experience
- 0-6 months of previous shop experience preferred
Physical requirements
- Work is performed in a shop environment: air conditioned, exposure to machinery noises. Exposure to coolants, lubricants, possibly abrasive compounds
