ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under guidance, set thermal couple, prepare load per optimal heat distribution of load
• · Load batch loads for optimum productivity
• ·Set up and/or operator heat treat ovens
• · Ensure quality by observing condition and position of material during the process
• · Start and shut down furnaces by setting controls, valves, lighting pilots and burners
• · Responsible for heat treat and process accuracy and uniformity survey
• · Prepare parts for loading into furnace, including wiping and final cleaning as required
• · Report any unusual conditions in operation, equipment or material to supervisor
• · Must have an understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions

Qualifications and requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Take hardness measurements and document results
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• High attention to detail
• Basic knowledge/interpretation of technical drawings

Experience

• 0-6 months of previous shop experience preferred

Physical requirements

• Work is performed in a shop environment: air conditioned, exposure to machinery noises. Exposure to coolants, lubricants, possibly abrasive compounds
