Heat Treaters/ Furnace Operators in Detroit, Michigan
Shift Schedule: Training on 1st shift/ Shift Bumps to 3rd shift 6pm-6am
Pay: $18.00hr
Express Over Operator or Heat Treat Job Duties:
- Furnance Operator/ Heat Treat perfered
- Forklift Operator experience is required
- Follow heat treat procedures and any special instruction supplied to heat treat, anneal, harden and temper. Maintain temperatures, time cycles, quench atmosphere and other variables that are specified.
- Operating heat Treat/ furnace operator
- Must set and adjust variables, load furnace following established practice, and operate as necessary to comply with established procedures. Withdraw and quench or cool parts as directed.
- Maintain all required operation records; change recording instruments charts and perform other related duties as required.
- Submit parts and / or test parts for hardness, tensile strength, elongation and other control checks following established practice.
- Perform periodic furnace temperature checks using test thermocouples and potentiometers to obtain temperature readings in various specified interior areas.
- Perform acceptance checks on incoming thermocouples and calibration documentation.
- Pre-treat a variety of customer products using standardized methods to prepare products for coating.
- Ability to make critical processing decisions to initiate the coating process as well as responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.
- Minimizing equipment downtime through preventative maintenance procedures.
- Assisting with quality assurance and other technical matters as required.
- Maintain work area equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform a variety of other tasks of equal or lesser complexity as assigned by supervisor.
- Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, such as; utilizing personal protective equipment and proper attire in keeping with safety standards.
Preferred Candidates:
- Thrive in the manufacturing or warehouse environment
- High School Education or GED
- Past successful experience with companies like: Universal Logistic, Comprehensive Logistics, Spencer Butcher, Magna, Lear, Faurecia, Yanfeng, Autokiniton, New Center Stamping, Stellantis, Ford, Amazon, Coke or Coca-Cola, Express Employment Professionals
