Position Overview

We are seeking a Heat Treat Operator with experience in programming vacuum ovens. This role is key in ensuring high-quality thermal processing through precise operation of heat treat equipment.

The ideal Heat Treater candidate has:

• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude;
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs;
• Ability to work in hot environments and stand/walk for long periods; occasional climbing and bending;
• Certifications like AMS2750 or CQI-9;
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and vacuum system knowledge;
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred;
• 2+ years of industrial oven experience, with 1+ year programming vacuum furnaces;
• Experience with SPC and data acquisition;
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI controls and systems like Cimcool or Centorr.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Program and operate vacuum furnaces for hardening, tempering, annealing, brazing, and stress relieving;
• Accurately complete batch records, logs, and inspection reports;
• Report downtime, deviations, and corrective actions to supervisors;
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements;
• Ensure compliance with ISO/AS9001 and/or NADCAP standards.
