Hazardous Materials & Environmental Services Coordinator
Location: Hitchcock, TX Area (Galveston County / Greater Houston)
Position Type: Full-Time (Direct Hire)
Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 / year (DOE)
We are seeking an experienced Hazardous Materials & Environmental Services
Coordinator to oversee our clients fleet dispatch, hazardous waste manifests, and regulatory
transport workflows out of their Hitchcock, TX area location. The ideal candidate has solid experience in coordinating logistics within a highly regulated environment working with Hazardous Materials and Waste in accordance with EPA, RCRA, and DOT guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, route, and schedule daily transport of
regulated materials, industrial wastewater, and specialty chemicals, ensuring
efficient driver dispatch and on-time service.
- Prepare, review, and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste manifests, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Land Disposal Restrictions
(LDRs), and waste profiles in full accordance with EPA, RCRA, and DOT
regulations.
- Work directly with third-party transport carriers,
TSDFs (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities), and regional receiving sites
to manage waste approvals and turnaround times.
- Partner with internal lab teams and field
specialists to match customer waste streams with appropriate treatment
capabilities and efficient disposal/recycling pathways.
- Oversee inventory tracking for bulk tanks, totes,
drums, and container storage, maintaining complete traceability from pickup to
final disposal.
- Maintain full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and TCEQ
standards. Support safety audits and maintain incident-free transport operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on logistics, dispatch, or technical operations
experience in hazardous waste, industrial chemistry, or environmental services.
- Certifications (Preferred or ability to obtain):
o 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
o DOT Hazardous Materials (49 CFR) Certification
o RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Certification
- Strong background in EPA waste profiling, hazardous
manifesting, DOT shipping documents, and logistics/scheduling software.
- Ability to adapt to fast-moving schedule changes, coordinate
dispatch needs, and maintain compliance under tight deadlines.
- Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the Hitchcock /
Texas City industrial corridor.
