Performs Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Machine operations on a line of standard and repetitive parts as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with courses in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals. Familiarity with machine welding techniques is a plus. Must be able to qualify machine welded groove welds of 0.032” thick materials of Stainless Steel, Nickel, and Cobalt alloys. Familiarity with weld symbols per AWS A2.4 Symbols for Welding and AWS A3.0 Standard Welding Terms and Definitions is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English, analyze and interpret specifications, process control sheets, and routings. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply shop mathematics, interpret complicated and involved drawings, specifications, formulas, and demonstrates competence in use of precision measuring instruments.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Requires judgment to plan and perform work, make decisions as to the sequence of processes and quality within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
