The Advanced Emerging Technology (AET) directorate is part of the Raytheon Advanced Technology strategic business unit and is responsible for developing systems that push the boundaries of the state of the art. Focused on both improving performance and lowering cost, AET has a broad range of development efforts funded by various DoD customers including the services and research labs. In addition, AET is involved in IRAD projects that explore new capabilities and applications of our technologies. We are currently seeking an Associate Director to serve as a Growth Program Manager for the AET portfolio.

This role is onsite located in Tucson, Arizona. The role requires up to 20% travel.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with the Director and integrated functional teams to develop new business capture strategies and then lead the capture and management of the resulting projects.
  • Lead early engagements with our broad customer set, with a focus on requirements development, shaping, and pre-design.
  • Display strong communication and presentation skills with both leadership and external customers.
  • Responsible for management of a variety of portfolio CRAD and IRAD efforts.
  • Responsible for management and reporting of portfolio investment budget.
  • Must be able to obtain additional program access.
  • Travel for customer engagements.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience writing and/or leading responses to solicitations (RFIs, RFPs, etc.), including white papers and proposals
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for programs with use of program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Board, or similar business processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including, but not limited to: Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, and/or Manufacturing/Operations.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated success creating and maintaining strong executive level relationships with suppliers, customers, government representatives, primes and internal peers.
  • Experience leading proposal efforts to include large value (>250M) through corporate level gating processes.
  • Experience with contract negotiations and executions with varying contract types (IDIQ, OTA, Etc).
  • Experience leading missile development activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and manage a high-mix workload (multiple projects at once).
  • Familiarity with government acquisition process.
  • Program Management Level 4 Certification or equivalent
  • Active Top Secret U.S. government security clearance

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
