Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Production Team Lead to join a growing manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently stepped into a leadership role or is an experienced production employee with strong leadership potential. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys leading by example while remaining hands-on in the manufacturing environment.
This role serves as a "player-coach," supporting daily production while providing leadership to the team. The Production Team Lead will assist with overseeing safety, quality, productivity, and employee development, while stepping in for the Production Supervisor as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.
- Provide leadership and direction to production team members while working alongside them on the floor.
- Serve as acting supervisor during supervisor absences, meetings, training, or vacations.
- Coach, train, and develop production operators.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist operators with resolving equipment and process concerns.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to diagnose and resolve mechanical or process-related issues when necessary.
- Perform machine setups and changeovers to support production schedules.
- Track production metrics and assist with continuous improvement and workplace organization initiatives.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- At least one year of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or demonstrated leadership abilities in a production role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Technical aptitude with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For
Success in this role is driven by attitude as much as experience. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and motivated to help both the team and the operation succeed. Leadership potential, a strong work ethic, and a positive mindset are valued just as highly as technical experience.
