Rogers Group is currently seeking motivated Groundman/General Laborers to join our team at our Roane County Quarry in Harriman, TN. This position reports directly to the plant manager. The Groundman is responsible for supporting daily quarry and aggregate production operations by performing general labor, housekeeping, equipment support, maintenance assistance, and site cleanup activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment throughout the quarry, plant, and yard areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor duties in support of quarry and aggregate production operations.
  • Clean and maintain conveyor systems, crushers, screens, hoppers, and other plant equipment.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Shovel, sweep, and remove material buildup from equipment and work areas.
  • Assist with plant start-up, shutdown, and operational support as directed.
  • Monitor plant areas for safety hazards and report equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials and supplies throughout the site.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with company policies and MSHA regulations.
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and required PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous quarry, construction, industrial, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant operations.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
