**Grinder **
Katy Spring & Mfg., Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Grinder to join our manufacturing team. The Grinder will be responsible for operating spring grinding equipment, monitoring the grinding process, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality and production requirements.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Operate spring grinding machines safely and efficiently
- Load and unload springs and materials from grinding equipment
- Monitor machines during production and make basic adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality requirements and specifications are met
- Use gauges and basic measuring tools to check part dimensions and quality
- Assist with dressing, changing, and maintaining grinding wheels
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment problems, or unusual machine conditions
- Read and follow job travelers, work instructions, and production requirements
- Complete required production and quality documentation
- Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools or machinery
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
- Meet production expectations while maintaining quality standards
- Work with supervisors, Quality Control, and other production employees as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with industrial machinery or production equipment is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn grinding equipment and processes
- Ability to safely operate machinery and basic hand tools
- Ability to use or learn basic measuring and inspection tools
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, job travelers, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work with small and large components
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE
