Position Summary

Midlab is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team in Athens, TN. 

As a Graphic Designer, you will collaborate with other members of the design team and department director to meet the needs of the department. Your main duties will include creating and updating product labels, developing and updating designs for various mediums with a focus on print design, working with cross-functional teams, and ensuring all deadlines are met.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collaborate with other members of the Midlab creative team
• Create, maintain, update existing design files as required
• Work with and adapt brand style guides for use in design projects as required.
• Creating and editing product photography for use in print and digital media
• Build use design templates to create product labels
• Prepare design files for final print and digital formats
• Review all work for errors
• Work with and interpret technical documents for use in packaging design

Requirements

GRAPHIC DESIGNER QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: Associate’s Degree (AA) in Graphic Design or a related field of study from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BFA) in Graphic Design or a related field of study from a 4-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIESWorking knowledge of Graphic Design software in a Windows environment. The employee is required to have skills and abilities in the following areas:

• Use of Adobe CS products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat
• Use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Must possess a basic knowledge of the print process.
• Strong organizational skills, keen eye for detail, and ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
