Pay Range for this position is: $115,000-$150,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location. 



POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the VP, Food Service Sales, the Manager, NA GPO & Healthcare is responsible for leading GPO and healthcare channel strategy across Canada and the United States. This role drives commercial growth, identifies market opportunities, and builds strong partnerships to strengthen the company’s position within the healthcare segment.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative professional with strong experience in healthcare, food service, or GPO environments, and a proven ability to manage complex commercial processes including bids, tenders, and RFPs. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage all GPO-related activities across Canada and the United States, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. 
  • Develop and advance the healthcare innovation pipeline in partnership with Marketing and R&D teams. 
  • Analyze market, customer, and category trends to identify growth opportunities and provide actionable insights. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with GPOs, healthcare operators, and key accounts across North America. 
  • Lead healthcare bids, tenders, and RFP processes from identification through submission and follow-up in coordination with internal stakeholders. 
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to drive visibility and identify new opportunities. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure execution of strategic priorities.
  • Support revenue growth and account development within the healthcare channel.
  • Travel as required across North America.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have direct reports but requires strong cross-functional leadership and influence across internal teams and external partners.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Relevant experience in healthcare, food service, key account management, or GPO-related commercial leadership. 
  • Strong understanding of the North American healthcare market, including procurement and customer requirements. 
  • Proven ability to lead complex bids, tenders, and contract negotiations. 
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Achievement of revenue and growth targets within the GPO and healthcare channel. 
  • Increased market penetration and account coverage across targeted GPOs and healthcare systems. 
  • Progress and commercialization success of the healthcare innovation pipeline. 
  • Win rate and quality of bids, tenders, and RFP submissions. 
  • Strength of customer relationships and account development outcomes. 
  • Delivery of actionable market and competitive insights to support strategic decisions. 
  • Effective representation at industry events, generating qualified opportunities and market visibility. 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

 

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

 

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

 

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
