Job Overview:

ROLE PURPOSE

This role ensures effective implementation, execution and management of Tate & Lyle’s Supplier Quality & Food Safety Management Program focusing on ingredients, packaging and critical Ingredients, including processing aids, service providers (toll processor, warehouses, distributers….). In addition, this role will manage the Global Documentation Program.

This position will:

  • Develop compliance mechanisms to ensure food safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met by qualified suppliers. While this role covers all materials, packaging will be a primary area of support.
  • Be responsible to flag, investigate and take action when food safety within T&L is compromised and reach out to key stakeholders when required. (actions like doing audit , start phase out process, etc..)
  • Play an important approval role within the global ingredient approval process and initial risk assessment of suppliers. This position will also support assigned facility J2E local program.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments (all yearly, during new creations , after audit, etc...) based on risk assessments an audit list must be communicated to other stakeholders.
  • Manage the creation, update, and expiration activities related to Global FS&Q documentation.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supplier and Material Monitoring( ingredients , processing aids , packaging , …)

  • Develops and ensures required documents for materials (including, but not limited to, Supplier Questionnaires, Allergen, GMO, Kosher, Natural, 3rd Party Audits and corrective action)are available in Tracegains. Makes sure that all documents contain the correct information and in accordance with legislation, FS&Q, customer, and the T&L policies
  • Conducts, checks, determines and communicates Supplier Quality and Food Safety Risk Assessment for current and new materials.
  • Maintains the Approved Supplier List for primary support materials in conjunction with Purchasing.
  • Coordinate and conducts quality and food safety audits at high risk suppliers and define the level of fodd safety risks and other risks, as needed.
  • Manage and follow up on the associated supplier quality and food safety audit corrective action plans.
  • Develop, track, and report appropriate metrics in a Supplier performance scorecard, once created.
  • Manage supplier performance through a supplier performance scorecard, once created.
  • Identify food industry supplier events and determine impact to Tate & Lyle facilities via Horizon Scan analysis. Build communications documenting GSQM action for internal stakeholders.
  • Interact with SRA and FS&Q Compliance when needed.
  • Deactivate suppliers and items when needed in the software TraceGains when needed.

Warehouse, Toll Manufacturer and Distributor monitoring

  • Develops and ensures required documents for warehouse and toll manufacturers (including, but not limited to, 3rd Party Audits, Internal qualification audits, certificates of insurance, Kosher, Halal and organic certifications and corrective action) in TraceGains for assigned entities.
  • Support and conduct quality and food safety audits at warehouses, washstations and toll manufacturers and define the level of food safety risks and other risks, where needed.
  • Manage the associated quality and food safety audit corrective action plans for audits performed.

Quality and Food Safety Management System

  • Implementing supplier management programs that meet the GFSI standard requirements.
  • Ensure that the supplier quality & food safety management programs are implemented at plants and for applicable toll manufacturers.
  • Provide training for supplier food safety and quality supplier management programs that ensure conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that supplier quality and food safety assessments are complete for the plants to build their HACCP plans in a timely manner.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert, Assist for supplier quality management and provide training to facilities to appropriately manage audits (GFSI, Halal, Kosher, customer, etc.)
  • Lead or participate in special projects as required.

Global Documentation Program

  • Design, Create policies and documentation infrastructure to provide access to key users.
  • Organize system for documentation for easy use.
  • Train key stakeholders in policies/programs as external and internal requirements change.

Communication

  • Work with TraceGains to ensure harmonized effective usage of the software.
  • Interact with and support procurement to ensure joint usage of the Supplier Quality and Food Safety management programs
  • Prepare the FS&Q data for supplier performance scorecard on request once developed.
  • Responsible for enforcing Tate and Lyle Global and Food System policies, guidance documents and procedures related to suppliers.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Development of robust supplier quality and food safety supplier management program
  • Management of the Global Documentation Program.
  • Compliance to the supplier management components of GSFI schemes.
  • Timely supplier risk assessments.
  • Support for audits of all high risk suppliers, distributors, and toll manufacturers

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.

When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

The pay range for this position is: $69,000 - $101,000.
