POSITION OVERVIEW

Ascend Performance Materials is a rapidly growing global leader in the production of PA 6,6, and we are seeking a Global Strategic Marketing Manager in Mobility for the Engineered Plastics business unit. The individual will be responsible for developing strategy and content to enhance APM’s specification footprint and brand recognition at targeted OEM and Tier 1 customers with specific responsibility for the 2 sub segments: Reliable Thermal Management and Efficient Powertrain.

Part of a dedicated Mobility focused team, this individual will be networking with various commercial, technical and manufacturing functions. The successful candidate will consistently demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, high energy and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

TARGETED OUTCOMES

  • Strategy to accelerate Mobility automotive growth
  • Clearly defined opportunity map and ‘go-to-market’ strategy for Mobility
    • Assess market opportunity in key new product areas and recommend path forward for Ascend
    • Define business case, supported by ‘go-to-market’ strategy and financials
  • Best-in-class portfolio, promotional content, and process to enable growth
  • Growth in OEM- and Tier-1 approvals and specifications in targeted applications
  • Significant improvement in APM brand recognition in the target OEM and Tier-1 community

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market mapping: Opportunity / Size / Landscape
  • Needs mapping: Key Customer Needs and Un-met Needs
  • Business Value-Proposition ($)
  • Go-to-market strategy and Customer segmentation
  • New Product Development stage gate leader
  • Product positioning / pricing
  • Develop networks @ validation customers and major OEMs
  • Develop translation packages for regional teams
  • Meet growth targets as defined in our LRP
  • Align the business strategy and growth plans with the target OEM’s and Tier community
  • Promotion :support coordination of trade shows /conferences
  • Promotion: lead engagement with relevant industry associations
  • Initiate and support strategic in-organic growth initiatives to accelerate growth

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering degree and MBA with strong focus on marketing and strategy highly preferred
  • > 10 years of Automotive experience in commercial, engineering or program management with associated strong network
  • Experience in managing C-level relationships the automotive industry; effective cross-functional and multi-level networking and influencing ability
  • Experience of Engineering Plastics PPS, LCP, PPA and PA
  • Experience in Mobility Thermal Management and/or Powertrain Application areas
  • Influencing and managing in a matrixed environment
  • Public speaking as an expert in conferences
  • Product / new technology introduction
  • Go-to-market strategy formulation
  • Leading / coaching / mentoring
  • Marketing / Business strategy formulation
  • Matrix management
