Global Master Data Supply Chain Team Lead

We are looking for a Global Master Data Supply Chain Team Lead to lead the centralized delivery of master data services across Lonza’s global manufacturing network. This role is responsible for the creation, governance, and continuous improvement of key supply chain master data objects, including materials, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and recipes within ERP systems.
Acting as a subject matter expert and team leader, you will oversee a global team supporting material and BOM creation, facilitate cross‑functional collaboration with manufacturing sites, and drive data quality, standardization, and operational excellence. The role also plays a critical part in transition activities, including knowledge transfer, process stabilization, and the establishment of governance controls within Lonza’s Global Master Data organization.

What you’ll do
- Lead, develop, and coach a global Master Data Supply Chain team, ensuring effective workload planning, performance management, and capability development
- Drive creation and maintenance of master data objects, including material master, BOMs, resources, routings, COA profiles, inspection plans, and recipes in SAP
- Oversee governance, quality, and compliance of master data processes, ensuring alignment with GMP and non‑GMP requirements
- Manage ERP system activities, including material and BOM setup, change control processes, and monitoring turnaround times for data requests
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration between site SMEs, project teams, and global functions to ensure accurate and timely data creation
- Support the transition and operational takeover of master data activities into the Global Master Data team, including knowledge transfer and process stabilization
- Establish, maintain, and improve work instructions, standards, and governance frameworks for master data processes
- Monitor master data KPIs, perform data quality checks, and drive corrective actions to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Leverage ERP capabilities to standardize master data structures and processes across the organization
- Provide hands‑on SAP support and act as SME for Supply Chain master data, including materials, BOMs, and recipes
- Coordinate cross‑plant material extensions and ensure alignment with planning, finance, and manufacturing requirements
- Collaborate with Global Supply Chain CoE and cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Participate in global master data and SAP‑related projects, supporting system enhancements and process optimization initiatives
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in Supply Chain master data management within a global organization
- Strong expertise in SAP ERP systems, with focus on MM/PP/PM modules
- Experience with data governance frameworks, tools, and best practices
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes and cross‑functional integration
- Proven experience leading and developing teams, including performance management and coaching
- Experience managing operational transitions, knowledge transfer, and change initiatives
