Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Glass and Aluminum Truck Operator/Driver to join our team in Bensalem, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting glass and aluminum materials to various job sites while ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a truck to transport glass and aluminum materials to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Secure glass and aluminum products onto the truck using appropriate equipment and techniques, including the potential use of a boom crane.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
  • Adhere to all traffic and safety laws and company policies to promote a safe driving environment.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and its cargo area.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL B or higher) with a clean driving record.
  • Must have air brake endorsement.
  • Experience driving trucks, preferably with glass or aluminum materials.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of paperwork and documentation related to transportation and delivery.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing delivery schedules or routes.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.

You should be proficient in:

  • DOT Medical Card
  • Current CDL License
