Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. 

Position Summary 

A successful candidate will maintain existing as well as be key to installing functioning parts of Metrolina Greenhouses York facility. Our facility has many various moving parts which requires a wide range of skills and knowledge base which allows you to diagnose, problem solve, and perform repairs. This position will also require great communication skills, capable of keeping management and other departments up to date, also while effectively estimating time to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance throughout the facility 
• Repair leaking and/or broken water pipes in water treatment buildings 
• Troubleshoot & repair production line conveyors, motors, and gearboxes 
• Troubleshoot & repair retractable greenhouse roofs & walls 
• Install new irrigation equipment to include plumbing in pipes & irrigation pumps 
• Other various maintenance needs as assigned by director 
• Requirement to be on-call once every 6-8 weeks
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail 
• Excellent problem-solving skills 
• Ability to follow through & complete all jobs & tasks 
• Excellent wiring & troubleshooting capabilities 
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks & breaks

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in industrial/facilities maintenance  
• PLC/Automation experience 
• HVAC experience

Job Setting & Physical Demands

This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. There are occasional needs to work in confined spaces and/or at tall heights (over 10 feet). Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to driving the scooter. 

Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
