The Opportunity:

The Geothermal & Solar Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, testing, and adjusting of mechanical equipment and systems in a power plant. They review manuals and schematic diagrams to determine the tasks, tools, equipment and parts needed. Responsible for the safe and effective local operation of the power plant equipment. A Maintenance Technician will typically be a strong troubleshooter when troubleshooting faults. With Interaction in and around mechanical plant equipment, they will perform planned maintenance activities while assisting other Technician in major equipment repair or overhaul as a member of a work team, made up of co-workers, helpers, both internal and external resources. They will perform preventative, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities for plant equipment on their own.

What You'll Do at Enel:

  • Strict adherence to all EGPNA safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Leads and mentors in testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing power plant related mechanical equipment.
  • Ensures predictive and reliability based maintenance activities are completed on time to optimize plant output
  • Gains technical information from schematics, vendor information, and applicable codes.
  • Operates precision maintenance tooling as required.
  • Operates vibration monitoring equipment in and around moving mechanical equipment, within safety parameters
  • Operate and detect ultrasonic frequency in and around moving mechanical equipment, within safety parameters.
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of machining and welding equipment in the work shop.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of all areas in the power plant.
  • Maintains inventory on necessary materials, including responsibility for inventory of tools.
  • Works with the Site Manager and Planning Department to plan and coordinate safe performance of plant related maintenance.
  • Initiate reports and generates maintenance records associated with the mechanical systems for the plants as needed.
  • Documents all work and reports as necessary in SAP PM.
  • Coordination of maintenance activities with other technicians under the direction of the Site Manager and Planning Department.
  • Ability to operate independently, safely, and efficiently to maximize power generation and availability, with minimal supervision.
  • Mentors Lower Level Technicians.
  • Initiates JHAs, PTWs, and LOTOs for maintenance activities.
  • Completes other assignments as assigned by Site Manager or Regional Manager. Coverage of site local operations and maintenance for assigned power plants.
  • Travel to all sites to perform preventative, reactive, and predictive maintenance activities as directed by Site Manager or Regional Manager.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend availability as needed to be dispatched to sites requiring immediate attention.
  • Will support regional Geo/Solar Maintenance activities as needed 
  • Required to qualify through a Plant Technology specific training Program.

What You've Accomplished:

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of related power generation or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must have a strong aptitude towards safety.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
  • Ability to read detailed drawings and equipment blue prints.
  • Willingness to stay late, and, or start early. To ensure all work is complete.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and qualify to operate Heavy Machinery, i.e. Forklift, Manlift, Boom Truck, Water Truck. Ability to acquire a CDL driver’s license.
  • The ability to use all required PPE required for the position.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft office.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required.
  • Availability for daily regional travel to job sites as needed
  • A valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and Canada and a clean driving record. A clean driving records means:
  • In the last 3 years, no driving-related suspension, revocation or cancellation, no disqualifying offenses, no more than 2 moving violations and no reckless driving incidents.
  • In the last 5 years, no major driving offenses including DUI/DWI, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accident.
  • The use of PPE is required and must be consistently used in accordance with EGPNA, NFPA, or OSHA guidelines.
