Job Description

Job Summary: Assist Pressroom Foreman and Press crews in performing a wide variety of manual tasks in the pressroom.

1. Read and understand job tickets and work instructions

2. Locate paper for jobs and move to press

3. Locate ink for jobs and give to the press crews

4. Locate plates for jobs and give to the press crews

5. Stack finished printed sheets into loads for bindery and shipping

6. Perform basic inspection while stacking loads

7. Keep chemical supplies available for the press crews

8. Move loads in the pressroom as directed using a hand operated pallet jack

9. General cleanup and assist in keeping the work area clean

10. Duty to learn the skills to move up to the next pressroom skill position

11. Other duties as requested/assigned

Job Skills:

   1. Basic math, mechanical and communication skills

   1. Basic knowledge of printing and printing equipment is helpful

High School diploma or equivalent

   1. Operation of the data collection system

   2. On the job training in the specific duties of the job

   1. Helpful but not required

Physical Requirements:

   1. Ability to lift 50 pounds
