General Shop – Mechanical Assembly & Fabrication

Location: Brighton, MI

Schedules: 1st shift 6am-2:3pm Monday- Friday & 2nd shift: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Thursday, OT as needed Friday

Pay Rate: 1st shift $20-$25/hr. 2nd shift up to $27/hour with premium (Based on Experience)

About the Opportunity: Express Employment Professionals is hiring for General Shop Fabricators to join the Machining, and Final Assembly Department of a print to build manufacturing organization in Brighton. These roles offer long-term stability, hands-on mechanical work, and the opportunity to learn multiple functions across the production floor. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy variety in their daily tasks!

**Position Summary: **The General Shop role supports multiple areas including mechanical assembly, machining, material handling, and general maintenance. This is a versatile, hands-on position requiring a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate machine shop equipment: CNC Saws, CNC Benders, Drillpress, Drill & Tap equipment.

• Perform tasks associated with the receipt, storage, shipment and fabrication of product and materials.

• Must be comfortable reading a ruler and using power drills.

• Unload / load trailers.

• Pick / pack / ship stock / cycle count material.

• Cut-to-size.

• Use established tools, equipment and technologies required to complete transactions

• Adhere to and enforce basic housekeeping standards, safe operating procedures; e.g. OSHA,

• PPE, etc. and basic building maintenance.

• Assists with Shipping and Receiving Department.

• Ability to develop and maintain excellent customer satisfaction by providing unmatched quality & service.

• Work effectively with others in a team based environment to accomplish company goals and to identify and resolve customer issues.

Requirements/What you’ll need:

• Machine shop knowledge with CNC equipment.

• High School diploma or GED required.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis; up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

• Experience with MS Office and basic math skills.
