Job Details:
General Labor positions start at $18.60/ hour.
These positions are responsible for entry-level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applicants will be considered for any general labor type openings.
- Positions available for 1st shift Processing and/or 1st shift Packaging.
- Position generally involves standing packing, palletizing, box making.
- Position will be standing at or near a conveyor belt, packing, box making, palletizing, and sorting raw/cooked meat products.
- Knife/Scissor work as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- General labor positions rotate throughout the shift.
- This position requires standing and walking for 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Position requires bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as pinching and grasping.
- Must be willing and able to lift to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to work in an environment with raw/cooked meat.
- Must be willing to work in cold environment, 30 to 40 degrees, with all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and required gear.
- These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.
- Must be able to work weekends and extended hours as necessary.
- Orientation class is Monday through Wednesday, 7AM - 3:30 PM . New hires must complete all hours of orientation class. Any tardies, call offs or leave earlies during orientation week is immediate termination and you will have to reapply.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
