SUMMARY
The General Manager Maintenance plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This position involves:
- Expense Control: Assisting in controlling expenses to maintain budgetary compliance.
- Compliance and Coordination: Ensuring adherence to federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements.
- Policy Enforcement: Interpreting and enforcing company policies.
- Workforce Recommendations: Assisting in assessing staffing requirements and providing strategic recommendations to optimize workforce efficiency and meet operational goals.
- Record Keeping: Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Problem Solving: Effectively solving problems with sound follow-up.
- Collaboration: Working with department heads to meet production quality, yields, and goals.
- Standards Maintenance: Ensuring maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product.
- Inspection and Competence: Inspecting and maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security.
- Supervision: Supervising production supervisors and overseeing all designated shift operations.
- IT Maintenance: Maintaining all IT-related devices, networking equipment, and software at the ALB/FRK complex.
- Equipment Management: Managing network switches, firewalls, cameras, recording servers, site servers, access points, phone systems, network connection-based production equipment, desktops, laptops, and tablets.
- Troubleshooting: Onsite troubleshooting of production and non-production related software, SAP inventory system devices, onsite office and production printers, site badging software, and other IT-related software or equipment.
- Team Management: Managing a team of three technicians with a rotating shift schedule focused on maintaining production-related equipment such as printers and tablets.
- 24/7 Availability: Being available 24/7 for troubleshooting and monitoring key systems during outages, including the possibility of holiday work to maintain site systems.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of related industry experience.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility.
- Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
Computer Skills
- Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Travel
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train team members.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Monitor and appraise work performance.
- Reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
Special Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality yields, cost, and efficiencies.
- Strong math ability is a plus.
