SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting overall operational efficiency, expense control, and regulatory compliance within the facility. Key duties include:

  • Assisting with cost management initiatives to help control operational expenses.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
  • Supporting manpower planning by helping determine staffing needs and making informed recommendations.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports to reflect operational conditions and support decision-making.
  • Collaborating with department heads to meet production goals related to quality, yield, labor standards, and performance.
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and facility security.
  • Providing leadership and supervision to maintenance and production supervisors and ensuring efficient operations during assigned shifts.
  • Investigating and resolving operational issues effectively, with strong follow-up to ensure continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing environment.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform similar or interrelated tasks. Duties include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring performance; coaching, counseling, and disciplining; addressing complaints; and resolving issues in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Special Skills:

  • Solid understanding of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, safety, sanitation, security, quality, yield, cost, and efficiency metrics. Strong math skills are a plus.

Travel:

  • Up to 10%.
