General Laborer
THIS ROLE IS LOCATED AT THE GBR/MARATHON PLANT IN TEXAS CITY.
All applicants must be able to pass all required DISA physical exams, hair follicle drug/alcohol tests, and background check requirements to be allowed onsite at the plant.
Job Overview
 As the General Laborer you will be loading and unloading catalyst while working under fresh air and wearing respiratory protection.
 Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 5:20am - 3:00pm
 - Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary, which could include weeknights and weekends
 - Holidays may be required depending on workload
 
 Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Plant Operations regarding unit silo levels
 - Operate company equipment as required
 - Maintain rail car and equipment repair and light maintenance records
 - Attend safety meetings
 - Provide miscellaneous mechanical repairs and maintenance to all equipment
 - Prepare necessary paperwork to allow the shipping of spent catalyst rail cars
 - Load spent catalyst in Class B enclosed dump truck from silo (working under supplied air)
 - Unload truck with spent catalyst into auger, load rail cars via auger (under respiratory protection)
 - Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods of time
 - Ability to effectively communicate
 - Basic knowledge of hand signals
 - Ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
 - Adaptable to changing work environment
 
 Qualifications:
- Must pass all required physical exams and drug/alcohol tests
 - Must be able to pass all required DISA physical exams, hair follicle drug/alcohol tests, and background check requirements.
 - Able to read, write, understand, and speak English
 
 Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
 - Climb stairs and ladders
 - Strenuous physical effort which requires standing for prolonged periods of time.
 - Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to perform various functions of the position.
 - Good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
 - Working in Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC)
 
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work and will be in extreme weather conditions
 - Working around hazardous chemicals
 - Working under supplied air for up to 4-5 hours a day
