About the Role 

The General Laborer is a versatile support position that contributes to production, logistics, and facility operations. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including material preparation, secondary operations, shipping and receiving, facility maintenance, and inter-site transport. The General Laborer plays a key part in ensuring efficient daily operations.

Essential Function / Duties*

• Production & Secondary Process Support
  • Handle raw materials, including unloading deliveries, moving stock, and cutting material to length for milling centers using a band saw.
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring, cleaning, polishing, and packaging of manufactured products.
• Logistics
  • Assist Shipping and Receiving by packing, labeling, and preparing outgoing products.
  • Receive and distribute incoming deliveries.
  • Perform routine inter-site transport of materials, supplies, and finished goods between the KI Sawyer and Marquette locations.
• Maintenance & Facilities.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas through daily housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including but not limited to trash and recycling removal, floor cleaning, and restocking of restroom products.
  • Maintain exterior landscaped areas, sidewalks, and parking lots, including snow and ice removal in the winter.
  • Assist with minor facility or equipment upkeep as directed by Maintenance.

Work Schedule / Supervision

Position: Full-time: 40 hours/week, potential for more. Overtime may be necessary.

Position Status:  Hourly position; with compensation and without notice.

Recommended Education / Experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Entry-level; general interest in manufacturing careers preferred.

Other Requirements

Must have valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
