Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and mark surfaces to determine layout of ceiling systems
• Install metal framing (grid systems) suspended from ceilings
• Cut and fit ceiling tiles or panels (acoustic, fiberglass, or wood)
• Install lighting fixtures, vents, and diffusers into ceiling systems
• Repair or replace damaged ceiling tiles or grid components
• Ensure ceilings are level, secure, and aligned properly
• Follow blueprints, building plans, and safety regulations
• Work with other trades (electricians, HVAC, etc.) to coordinate installations

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong measuring and math skills
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Physical stamina (lifting, climbing ladders, overhead work)
• Knowledge of safety procedures (OSHA guidelines)

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED (typically required)
• On-the-job training or apprenticeship preferred
• Prior construction or carpentry experience is a plus
