At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $18.75-$26.25 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.

GENERAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - AUSTIN PLANT
This position will report to the Associate Financial Accountant.
The work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday. 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person in this position:
Perform daily balancing between the QAD system and Oracle Cloud, researching and resolving variances.
Review and resolve items on the plant’s uninvoiced receipts report through independent research, supplier contact, and collaboration with Purchasing and Corporate Accounts Payable.
Review, investigate, and resolve Invoice Price Variances (IPVs).
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare and enter month end expense accruals.
Receive, track, and account for miscellaneous physical check receipts.
Monitor and track handbills for miscellaneous materials leaving the facility.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Position Summary
The General Accounting Specialist supports the Austin Plant and Spice Annex by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory and financial records. This role plays a key part in period‑end close activities, investigation and resolution of accounts payable discrepancies, processing of miscellaneous receipts, and compliance with established accounting policies and procedures. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective collaboration with both plant and corporate teams
