Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Gel Coat Supervisor effectively leads all Gel Coat operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervises Gel Coat hourly associates.

  • Works as a team with other department supervisors.

  • Manages and improves Environmental, Health and Safety.

  • Ensures daily production schedule is met.

  • Controls MRO spending.

  • Routinely audits associates to ensure standard work is met and sustained.

  • Manages layout of efficient use of machinery and equipment.

  • Studies processes, analyzes and improves cost of production through Lean/Kaizen techniques.

  • Effectively communicates with employees and peers.

  • Uses computer programs excel, word, outlook, AS400.

  • Strong organizational skills in record keeping, scheduling and document preparation.

  • Performs basic mathematical calculations and report data accurately.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: 3 years of experience in supervisory role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Knowledge of Gel Coat processes and techniques is a plus

  • Hand/eye coordination

  • Work all necessary hours including weekends, often with little notice

  • Visual acuity, including depth perception

  • Read and understand instructions
