Job Description

The Gas & Chemical Equipment Technician is responsible for supporting the technical operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe handling of site gas and chemical distribution equipment. The technician will support a large and diverse equipment base while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.

This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training (OJT), technical training, and qualification programs for both entry-level and experienced technicians. A structured five-level technician progression program provides opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the operation, maintenance, and technical requirements of site gas and chemical equipment.
• Perform cylinder and drum changes across various chemical and gas delivery systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and perform appropriate problem resolution.
• Support more complex troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance activities as technical knowledge develops.
• Maintain and support 500+ pieces of distribution equipment from various manufacturers and equipment types.
• Follow all established safety, quality, operating, and maintenance procedures.
• Promote a zero-incident safety and quality culture through safe work practices and attention to detail.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and basic equipment inspections.
• Participate in Basic Safety Process (BSP) and quality management activities.
• Complete required technical training and equipment qualification programs.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer as experience and qualifications increase.
• Support the installation, commissioning, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of gas and chemical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Equipment Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Facilities Technician, or similar technical role.
• Basic mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to safely handle and change gas cylinders, chemical drums, or similar containers.
