JOB DUTIES:
- Accurately read and interpret product drawings.
- Accurately use measuring equipment (i.e., dial calipers, micrometers, pit gauges, etc.) and interpret results.
- Operate electrical calibration equipment.
- Work with line inspectors to resolve gaging problems when they occur.
- Work with Product/Manufacturing Engineering in the design and inspection of tooling used throughout the plant.
- Assist with the dimensional analysis of Returned Products, as required.
- Use both simple and complex precision instruments and equipment in the calibration of gages and equipment used in inspection.
- Responsible for the scheduling of the periodic contracted calibrations of various instruments.
- Perform diagnostic work and repair most of the instruments in his/her care.
- Verifies dimensional compliance of inserts in accordance with receiving inspection procedures.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of quality control or inspection experience is preferred
- Experience with measurement tools (i.e., dial calipers, micrometers, pit gauges, etc.) is preferred
- Must pass screening exam (math and reading comprehension) with a minimum overall score of 80%.
- Basic computer skills are required.
