Quality Technician IV (Gage Lab Tech)

Location: Lafayette, IN

Pay: $24.27/hr + $2.70/hr weekend differential

Shifts Available:

Weekend Day Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:30am–7:00pm

Overview:

Express Employment is seeking a Quality Technician IV (Gage Lab Tech) for a local manufacturer. This position is responsible for inspecting, calibrating, repairing, and certifying precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, Super Micrometers, and surface plates. The role plays a key part in maintaining ISO9001 compliance and ensuring all measurement tools meet exacting standards.

Responsibilities:

Check, adjust, calibrate, and certify precision measuring equipment
Repair and maintain gages and coordinate with outside repair vendors
Perform layout inspections and trigonometric calculations
Maintain records in line with ISO9001 and corporate gage systems
Train others once fully qualified

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with gage checking, repair, and certification
CNC machining knowledge and ability to interpret blueprints
Strong math and trigonometry skills
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Proficient computer and recordkeeping skills
