Job Overview:

  • ·         Troubleshooting, diagnosing, modifying, fabricating, and repairing mobile and stationary equipment electrical systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, drive trains and track equipment undercarriages by using specialized testing equipment and electrical systems knowledge. Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance programs such as reposting fluid leaks, performing lube work, taking fluid samples, inspecting components and parts for proper operation, damage, wear, etc. Repair and replace components and parts as needed.
  • ·         High school diploma/GED, Diesel Technology certificate, good working knowledge of MACS (Mobile Air Climate Systems), training and/or experience in mining/heavy industrial equipment maintenance preferred.
  • ·         Must have the ability to read and write instructions, preform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
  • ·         Experience in heavy industrial Mining equipment repair and maintenance with Caterpillar haul trucks 775G, Hitachi EH100-3, Terex TR60, Caterpillar loaders 990 Caterpillar front loader CAT 416C, Caterpillar Dozer Cat D8H, Water Trucks, Vacuum Trucks, Tamrock Pantera drill 800, software/diagnostic tools preferred.
  • ·         Five-ten years’ experience working on heavy equipment.
  • ·         Perform welding and acetylene torch cutting work on as needed basis.
  • ·         Working knowledge of manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • ·         A thorough understanding of A/C and hydraulic troubleshooting/repairing in addition to an understanding of VIMS, SIS and ET systems.
  • ·         A strong working knowledge of engines, power train, electrical, fuel, and cooling systems, power generation and be able to troubleshoot and repair them.
  • ·         Ability to use hand tools and trade specific tools
  • ·         Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions required.
  • ·         Must have own hand tools of up to 3/4" drive to perform necessary maintenance.
  • ·         Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • ·         Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • ·         Must be an initiative-taker with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • ·         High school diploma or equivalent preferred with applicable vocational technical training and/or experience in mining/heavy industrial equipment maintenance required.
  • Must have the ability to read and write instructions, preform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Must be an initiative-taker with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams and follow maintenance manuals and parts books to set up and perform tasks.
  • Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain mine equipment at an acceptable availability and reliability to meet budgeted goals in safety, cost, productivity, and environmental commitments.
