Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Wood & Metal Finisher for a custom fabrication company producing high-quality furniture, cabinetry, architectural millwork, fixtures, and specialty fabricated pieces.

We are looking for an experienced craftsperson who understands professional wood and metal finishing and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality finished work.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare wood and metal surfaces through sanding, filling, cleaning, masking, and priming

• Apply stains, paints, sealers, lacquers, oils, clear coats, and specialty coatings

• Operate spray guns and professional spray-finishing equipment

• Mix and prepare stains, paints, coatings, and finishing materials

• Assist with color matching and finish samples

• Maintain consistent color, sheen, texture, coverage, and appearance

• Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups and corrective finishing

• Finish custom furniture, cabinetry, millwork, architectural elements, and specialty fabricated pieces

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional finishing/painting experience on fine woodwork and/or metalwork

• Hands-on experience with sanding, staining, painting, sealing, coating, and surface preparation

• Experience using spray guns and spray-finishing equipment

• Strong eye for color, texture, sheen, consistency, and overall finish quality

• Experience with custom furniture, cabinetry, architectural millwork, or specialty fabrication preferred

• Comfortable working with paints, stains, solvents, coatings, finishing equipment, and required PPE

• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality craftsmanship

Compensation

$30–$40/hour, based on experience

Candidates with strong custom wood finishing, cabinet finishing, furniture finishing, millwork finishing, spray finishing, or fine metal finishing experience are encouraged to apply.
