Job Overview:

Furnace Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Furnace Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring furnace equipment used in the heat-treating and processing of steel products while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor industrial furnace equipment according to production requirements.
  • Load and unload steel materials into furnaces safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor furnace temperatures, cycle times, and heat-treating processes.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and document production data.
  • Verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Operate forklifts to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist with other production and material handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Prior manufacturing, furnace operation, heat treating, or metal processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a hot industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Steel manufacturing or heat-treating experience is a plus but not required.
