Job Overview:

About the Role

We are seeking reliable, customer-focused EV Drivers to support transportation operations in the Los Angeles area. EV Drivers are responsible for providing safe, professional, and comfortable transportation services while operating electric vehicles through the Uber platform.

This role requires strong customer service, safe driving habits, smartphone/app proficiency, and the ability to maintain compliance with company, Uber, and CPUC safety standards. Candidates must be dependable, professional, and committed to full-time work.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Safety

  • Safely transport riders to their destinations in accordance with California traffic laws.
  • Practice defensive driving at all times.
  • Avoid accidents and immediately report any vehicle damage, incidents, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow CPUC drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Uber Platform Requirements

  • Maintain an active Uber Driver account in good standing.
  • Maintain a minimum Uber Driver rating of 4.90 or higher during any two-week period.
  • Follow all Uber policies, procedures, and platform guidelines.
  • Accept ride requests promptly and proceed to pickup within the required timeframe.

Customer Service

  • Provide every rider with a safe, clean, comfortable, and professional experience.
  • Interact courteously with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Respond to rider needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Transport service animals in accordance with company policy.

Vehicle & Technology

  • Operate the Uber Driver app, Tesla interface, and navigation systems efficiently.
  • Keep the vehicle interior clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
  • Use smartphone-based tools and apps as required for daily work.
  • Submit reports or updates as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Valid California Driver’s License required.
  • No commercial driver’s license required.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Must pass Motor Vehicle Record review, background check, and drug screening.
  • Must complete E-Verify before submission/start.
  • Must be able to work full-time: 8.5-hour shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
  • Must be proficient in English: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Must be comfortable using the Uber Driver app, smartphone apps, and navigation systems.
  • Must be able to sit and drive for up to 8.5 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned worksite.

Drug & Background Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements prior to starting, including:

  • Background check through Checkr
  • Motor Vehicle Record review
  • CPUC-compliant drug screen
  • E-Verify completion

The employer maintains a drug-free workplace. Pre-employment and random drug testing are required. THC/marijuana is included in the screening and is not accepted under CPUC safety requirements.

Dress Code

All EV Drivers must wear all-black attire while on shift. Attire is not provided.

Permitted attire includes:

  • Black polo, plain black T-shirt, or solid black outerwear with no logos
  • Black jeans, dress pants, formal pants, knee-length shorts/skirts, or loose-fitting jumpsuits
  • Black closed-toe shoes such as sneakers, loafers, flats, or boots

Not permitted:

  • Hoodies, athletic wear, logos, or graphic clothing
  • Sweatpants, yoga pants, athletic shorts, or skirts above the knee
  • Sandals, flip flops, slides, crocs, stilettos, or high heels

Training

All new drivers must complete a two-day training program before beginning regular shifts:

  • Day 1: 8-hour classroom training
  • Day 2: 4-hour on-the-job training/orientation

After successful completion of training and onboarding requirements, candidates will be cleared to begin working shifts.

Candidates should be seeking stable, full-time employment and be able to commit to a fixed 5-day schedule.
