Position Overview:

Essential Functions:
- Prepare boat hulls by scraping, sanding, grinding, and cleaning surfaces prior to paint application
- Apply multiple coatings including epoxy primers, anti-fouling paints, and other marine finishes
- Identify paint types and ensure proper selection and application techniques
- Assist with basic rigging tasks related to launching, hauling, and positioning vessels
- Support vessel movement and staging within the yard, including coordination with equipment operators
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies
- Occasionally assist with vessel cleaning, hauling, and launching operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support yard and marina operations

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior marine, marina, or boatyard experience
- Experience working on or around boats
- Familiarity with marine coatings, surface preparation, and application techniques
- Forklift or equipment operation experience
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily outdoors and in a shop/yard environment
- Regular exposure to dust, fumes, paints, chemicals, and varying weather conditions
- Physical demands include standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive manual tasks
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel required, work is primarily completed onsite
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $16 to $18 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
