Position Overview

We are hiring an experienced Foundation Manager / Superintendent with approximately 10 years of heavy civil construction experience. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of foundation systems—drilled shafts, micropiles, H-piles, sheet piling, tiebacks—and experience working in marine and industrial environments. This role leads field operations, manages subcontractors, enforces safety and quality, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct field crews, forepersons, and subcontractors to complete work safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and produce weekly safety reports.

  • Provide tools, materials, and information needed for crews to perform work correctly.

  • Monitor subcontractor progress and manage budget and schedule expectations.

  • Interpret project specifications, plans, and survey data to plan and execute foundation work.

  • Track productivity and job costs, review job cost reports for foundation elements.

  • Implement QA/QC processes to maintain high quality standards.

  • Develop construction designs and major pick plans, and contribute to work plans.

  • Identify and respond proactively to site conditions and unforeseen challenges.

  • Manage manpower needs and assist with claims related to foundation items.

  • Maintain document control for submittals, material tracking, and required paperwork.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Approximately 10 years of heavy civil construction experience with extensive foundation work.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, industry best practices, and QA/QC.

  • Proven ability to manage fast-paced schedules and shifting priorities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Local travel: projects within 1–2 hours of the office.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.

  • Marine construction experience a plus.

  • Experience with micropiles; H-piles; sheet piling; cofferdams; tiebacks; well points; rigging; drilled shafts 36"–144".

  • Welding and fabrication experience is beneficial.

  • Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable communicating with owner representatives and project stakeholders.
