Job Details
- Position Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
- Pay Range: $22.00 per hour (increases to $24.50 after training and on 2nd shift)
- Work Location: Mundelein, Illinois (On-Site)
- Shift: 2nd (4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) **NOTE: **This position will train for 4-6 months during 1st shift (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forming machines (cold heading, hot forming, or other) according to defined procedures.
- Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper tooling, alignment, and production rates.
- Inspect parts during and after production using measuring instruments and visual checks.
- Monitor and maintain machine performance to prevent downtime and ensure quality.
- Record accurate production and inspection data in logs or electronic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
- Work with Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve process or equipment issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
Skills/Competencies
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to interpret part drawings and production specifications.
- Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency under pressure.
- Basic troubleshooting and machine adjustment capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Qualifications (Required)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment (lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods).
- Availability to work required shift and overtime when necessary.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience with forming equipment such as cold headers or hot formers.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
- Prior experience in metal forming or automotive manufacturing.
