FORKLIFT OPERATOR

JOB TITLE: FORKLIFT OPERATOR ( Material Handler 2)

SUMMARY

As a Forklift Operator you will play a crucial role in our Plant operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve the efficient movement, organization, and storage of materials within our facility, utilizing both motorized and non-motorized equipment.  Duties will also include the loading or unloading of material from delivery trucks and staging material for use within plant operations. Incumbents are also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.

• Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines.

• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

* Inspect materials for defects, quantity and quality.

• Follow all company rules and policies.

• Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.

• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.

• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

• Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

• Clean-up work area daily.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• 1-2 years previous forklift experience a plus.

* Attention to detail is required when performing all tasks.

• Ability to lift heavy items up to 60 pounds consistently required

• Must have the ability to use and read a tape measure

• Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.

• Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic.

• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be at work on time.
