On-site – Salt Lake City, Utah

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the proper preparation and loading of all outgoing shipments of finished products, unloading of incoming shipments, and maintaining shipping yard and workspace. You will be transporting materials and finished products to the appropriate departments and storage locations. This is an outdoor position.

PAY: This position pays $22.50/HR and up, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-530pm

This is what you’ll do:

  • Load oversize/heavy outgoing shipments in an outdoor, manufacturing environment.
  • Unload incoming shipments, ensuring proper documentation (stamped, labeled) and storage of the product, and submit to appropriate shipping personnel.
  • Communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high-quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Examine outgoing shipments for any product defects and place Shipping Labels on all shipments.
  • Assist Shipping Technician with inventory control , provide weekly, monthly and yearly cycle count for steel reels and inventory
  • Unload incoming shipments of products, return and materials, count parts and keep inventory accuracy.
  • Assist and perform material handling duties to move production and raw materials within the plant including tape, extrusion reel return and reel building.
  • Follows all company-standard and position-specific safety requirements, and reports any unsafe working conditions or broken equipment
  • Follows and complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Additional duties as required by management

This is what it takes:

  • At least 2 years of excellent lift truck (forklift) experience or heavy equipment operator in a manufacturing/ warehouse/ shipping/ distribution environment with varies types of equipment and diverse terrain and environments.
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical basic competency
  • Familiarity with manufacturing/outdoor environments including shipping and receiving, first in/first out (FIFO).
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Experience loading and unloading Flatbed Trailers
  • Ability to perform simple math for inventory and cycle counts
  • Consistent work history and good attendance at previous employers

Occupational and Physical Requirements:

  • Understanding of paperwork procedures and documentation requirements
  • Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times (up to and including steel toe/composite toe shoes or boots, safety glasses, vests, hard hats, etc.)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to spend up 8-12 hours on foot
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme heat or extreme cold
  • This is a non-climate controlled facility
  • Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects, pushing and pulling objects
  • This is a very physical position that requires constant movement in and around the facility

*For Tuition reimbursement you must be a full-time employee and complete one continuous year of employment. You will receive $5,000 a year for undergrad and $7,500 a year for grad.**
