Join our Legacy  

Reporting to the Production Manager, a forklift driver fulfills the department’s orders, which can include receiving, inputting, sorting moving materials, pallets, loading and unloading products within the plant (or yard) as well as performing various activities to support the department, focusing on quality, safety, and productivity.

 

Your Contribution to Excellence 

  • Perform department duties, which can include (based on department) picking orders, receive/stow product, unload, and load trailers.
  • Utilize RF scanner to keep accurate inventory (If applicable)
  • Ensure shipments are loaded and received on the correct trucks within the assigned deadlines (If applicable).
  • High stack pallets and bins of product.
  • Classify production pallets as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks with materials or wet waste.
  • Take empty pallets from the department to the designated area.
  • Convey materials from storage to work areas.
  • Prepare related reports.
  • Maintain the work area clean, neat, and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must be able to work any shift or weekend, including overtime, as necessary.
  • Frequent lifting above the shoulders.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What you Bring to the Table

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
  • Prior experience driving a forklift (sit down, and high lift equipment)
  • Proficient in safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 49 pounds (50 pounds and above require a team lift). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
