Overview:

The Loader Operator operates a 966 front-end loader; Loads and unloads equipment, materials and tubular delivered on trucks.  Maintain clear access to drilling rig, camp, material and equipment stored on drilling pad.  Assists in pipeshed or drilling rig when not performing assigned duties.  Supervised by the Driller and generally by the Rig Manager.

 

Key Relevant Task:

·         Record equipment operating information on daily report.

·         Maintain spare parts, oil and grease inventories

·         Operate front end loaders with forks, bucket and misc., attachments.

·         Organize store and inventory equipment on drilling pad.

·         Monitor and fuel auxiliary equipment.

·         Deliver tools and equipment from drilling pad to drilling rig.

·         Alert personnel when wildlife in on location.

·         Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on front end loader.

·         Maintain clear communications with relief, Driller, Rig Manager and crew members.

·         Participate in emergency drills.

·         Follow Nabors and customer operating and reporting procedures.

·         Participate in all crew meetings.

Essential Functions:

·         Have knowledge of, and understand Nabors Health, Safety and Environmental systems and requirements.

·         Have knowledge of possible health, safety and environmental impact and requirements associated with oil and gas drilling operations.

·         Have knowledge and Environmental Management System (EMS) operations and responsibilities.

·         Correct use of required activity permits and MSDS sheets.

·         Implementing Nabors safety and hazards recognition programs each shift.

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operational manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

·         Ability to solve practical problems and ensure that standardizations exist.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma, certificate or equivalent

·         Oilfield or related industry experience

·         Arctic experience (preferred)

·         Valid Driver’s License

·         Prior Forklift experience
