This position starts at $22.65/hr. (PR06) with a shift increase for the second and third shifts and potential for overtime.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for carefully operating a forklift to move packages and materials around our facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety in accordance with Tyson's production guidelines and Safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Unload/Load materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations

  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.

  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs, through accurate paperwork and/or electronic scanning.

  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.

  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment while driving within the facilities

  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to wear required PPE to work in an extremely cold environment (below -10 degrees F).
  • Ability to work for extended periods in cold environments (30F – 40F)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms 100% of the time.
  • The employee is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel 100% of the time.
  • The employee is required to stand, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch, or crawl 25% of the time up to 10 hours per day
  • The employee is required to sit 75-100% of the time up to 8 - 10 hours per day
  • The employee must lift up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 300 pounds (with assistance) 100% of the time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6 - month Forklift experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as the experience is at least 6 months).
