Job Title: Forklift Operator

Duration: 05+ Months

Location: Switz City, Worthington, IN 47465

Shifts available:

Production site will be operating 24/7

first week of orientation will be day shift 7:00AM - 3:30 PM then employee will be placed on a team

Shifts are 8 hours - 6 days a week.

Shift plans are 1st shift 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM;

2nd shift 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM;

3rd shift 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

**Pay Rate: **

Shift1: $22.00

Shift 2: +$3 ($25)

Shift 3: +$2 ($24)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Professional, accident-free operation of the forklift, and the precise keeping of the forklift inspections.

• Systematic maintenance and cleaning of the forklift

• Continuous tracking of the location of goods during material handling using WMS. Use the WMSystem accordingly and ensure accurate data entry.

• Perform any other manual job at the direction of the warehouse supervisor or team lead (e.g. sampling, inventory, cleaning)

• Keep the warehouse clean and tidy

• During the seed delivery and return season: ensure proper (loading and unloading) of transport vehicles with quality packages to meet customer expectations

• Maintain safety standards - initiate & follow emergency procedures when necessary

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE

• 1 year of forklift experience

• 1 year of warehouse experience

• Prior forklift certification is preferred

SKILLS

• Ability to count accurately when moving inventory

• Ability to read scales

• Ability to multi-task and detailed oriented

• Being alert and aware when driving the forklift in a safe manner

• Ability to communicate and work by yourself or with a team

• Ability to work in tighter, confined spaces with a forklift

• Have reliable transportation to the site and be able to arrive at the work site as instructed.

Operates forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse area. Follows regulatory requirements. May require certification. May use technology (PCs, scanners, etc.) to complete job tasks

Equipment/Attire Requirement:

• Steel-toe over the ankle work boot (worker responsibility)

• Hi-Visibility hard hat (provided)

• General purpose gloves (provided)

• Hi-Visibility safety vest (provided)

• Safety eyewear (provided)

• Long pants of durable material (jeans preferred)

• Shirt with sleeves, minimum to cover shoulder (no loose clothing)

Warehouse Activities - including forklift operation, driving of a forklift in the act of: Picking, Pooling, Staging, Receiving, and loading and unloading carrier’s trailers, other product movements as required etc. Work with Shipping and Scheduling Team to utilize standard operating procedures (SOP) to maintain safety and quality. Maintain site as a reliable supplier of quality products and services to be delivered to our customers worldwide. Assist the Dock personnel with the handling of bags while picking ordered. Responsible to follow standard operating procedures for PPE, movement of bags, and pedestrian walkways. Assist in cleaning and 5S duties throughout the warehouse.
