SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE (Basic purpose of job)
A Forklift Operator’s role is to ship, receive, and move materials and finished goods around the warehouse, storage yard, manufacturing plant and other work sites.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience and/or ability required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to Safety policies and procedures and instill a safety culture
- Obtain copy of production or shipping order and transport material to and from designated areas in the facility.
- Load and unload goods from production lines and trailers.
- Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility.
- Check and ensure all loads are secure.
- Provide raw ingredients to production workstations and place raw ingredients in correct storage areas.
- Perform daily forklift inspections.
- Remove machine attachments and waste materials from machines.
- Identify damages, report shortages and quality deficiencies
- Keep updated records of inventory by complying with warehouse procedures and inventory control guidelines such as scanning merchandise off production lines and in and out of locations. Ensuring pallets quality checks are done when removing finished goods from various locations throughout the plant and prior to shipping finished goods.
- Comply with company policies and guidelines
- Assist smooth operation of production lines by supplying raw materials and troubleshooting mechanical problems and supporting re-work of any finished goods items that have not met quality inspection.
- All other duties, as required or needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- HSD or equivalent (GED) required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- May be required to use RF scanner gun
- Clean driving record and valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear or see. This position requires sitting, standing and walking. The employee must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
