About the Role:

The Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our distribution facility by ensuring the safe and timely movement of goods. This position is responsible for operating a chain saw, loading and unloading trucks, as well as organizing and storing products within the yard. The operator will utilize various industrial equipment, including forklifts and a chain saw. A strong emphasis on safety protocols is essential to maintain a secure working environment for all employees. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator contributes to the overall productivity and success of the supply chain operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift operator certification.
• Proven experience operating industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in building materials and or distribution.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Basic knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other machinery to load and unload products from trucks and racks.
• Pull products off shelves or racks and prepare them for shipment or storage.
• Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment.

Skills:

Previous experience operating a forklift required. Basic mathematical skills are necessary for accurately counting and measuring products during the picking process. A safety-minded approach is critical, as the operator must consistently follow safety protocols to prevent accidents. The ability to read and write in English is important for understanding safety instructions and communicating effectively with team members.
