Job Title: Forklift Operator
Duration: 12+ months with Possible Extension/Conversion
Location: Canaan, CT, 06018
Pay Rate: $23/hour on W2
Shift Options:
- **Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM **
- **Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM + 10% Shift Differential (+$2.30/hr)

**Schedule:
The schedule follows an alternating work pattern of Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat/Sun/Wed/Fri. The employee will be assigned either the day shift or night shift based on shift availability, and the shift hours will remain the same throughout the scheduled two-week period. The employee will not rotate between day and night shifts during the same two-week period.**
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate movement of products within the distribution center.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities
- Transport palletized product within the distribution center (unload, put away double deep, bulk and full pallet pick, load, replenishment).
- Operate material handling equipment, including high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker.
- Use RF Scanner and WMS to ensure inventory accuracy and track products throughout the site.
- Ensure product integrity while performing all tasks.
- Follow site safety procedures, including required PPE (safety vest, safety shoes).
- Cross train and become knowledgeable in other areas. Provide backup support when required.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience, required in lieu of High School Diploma or GED.
- Intermediate experience with either a high reach or counterbalance required.
- Experience with Manhattan WMS, preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification within 2 days of employment.
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents in English.
- Ability to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.
- Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
- General distribution knowledge.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong initiative and drive for results.
