We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Food Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing new food products, improving existing recipes, ensuring food safety and quality, and staying compliant with industry regulations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and quality assurance.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and test new food products from concept to commercialization that support the business objectives and strategic plan.
- Plan, lead, and execute bench and plant-scale production trials.
- Develop documentation including, but not limited to, operational formulas & processes, ingredient & product specifications, and laboratory experimentation.
- Identify new or innovative ingredients/packaging that provide improved functionality, higher quality, and/or cost savings.
- Assist in approving prospective ingredient/packaging vendors.
- Conduct sensory analysis panels and analytical measurements on products to determine stability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, SQF, FSMA).
- Stay updated on food trends, ingredients, and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in product and process development.
- Proficiency in lab testing and analytical techniques.
- Able to prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Genesis and statistical software.
