This role supports food safety and quality programs by managing documentation, monitoring compliance, and assisting with audits and corrective actions. The position plays a key role in ensuring products meet regulatory and internal food safety standards, with a strong focus on documentation accuracy, preventive controls, and pre-shipment readiness.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment while collaborating closely with quality, operations, and management teams.
Shift: Second shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain food safety and quality systems, including SOPs, HACCP/HARPC plans, and related documentation
- Assist with the creation, review, verification, and upkeep of food safety records and facility document logs
- Serve as a trained backup for FSQA technician responsibilities when coverage is required
- Monitor preventive controls to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with food safety plans
- Communicate any food safety concerns immediately to quality leadership
- Track, document, and support corrective and preventive actions related to food safety findings
- Package, document, and coordinate shipment of product samples for laboratory testing
- Compile, review, and report analytical and testing results, including trend tracking and escalation of out-of-spec results
- Support internal audits and routine inspections (GMPs, sanitation, pest control, etc.) on a weekly and monthly basis
- Assist with employee training related to GMPs, food safety programs, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in investigations of non-conformances and customer complaints and help implement corrective actions
- Act as a point of support during facility visits, customer audits, and third-party or regulatory inspections
- Maintain accurate and secure records of all quality and analytical data
- Promote continuous improvement through proactive identification of risks and opportunities
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and workplace standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by quality leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in administrative, documentation, or quality-related roles
- Background in food manufacturing or food safety environments
- Familiarity with HACCP, preventive controls, GMPs, and FDA/USDA regulations
- Prior experience in FSQA, document control, or quality assurance support

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily stationary with standing required for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive movements required
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly and up to 45 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to push or pull heavy items on rollers when necessary
- Work environment includes cold and wet conditions within a manufacturing and warehouse setting
- Must be able to work comfortably in refrigerated temperatures for the duration of the shift
