Food Development Specialist: Monticello, WI
Our client is seeking a Food Development Specialist to support product development initiatives within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in bringing new products to market by executing technical workflows across formulation, food safety, sensory evaluation, and regulatory compliance. The Food Technologist will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products are safe, scalable, and aligned with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support product development through formulation, testing, and scale-up activities
Conduct sensory evaluations and contribute to shelf-life validation programs
Perform risk assessments and ensure adherence to HACCP and food safety standards
Review raw materials for functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance
Develop and maintain Nutrition Facts Panels and ingredient statements in line with FDA requirements
Execute shelf-life, stability, and microbiological studies
Troubleshoot formulations and support transition from R&D to production
Act as a point of contact for food safety and quality-related inquiries
Evaluate flavor, texture, and overall product quality using both technical knowledge and culinary insight
Skills & Experience:
**Education
**: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Dairy Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Food Engineering, Culinary Science, etc.), REQUIRED
**Experience
**: 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, R&D, or product development, REQUIRED
**Knowledge:
**Strong knowledge food safety, shelf-life validation, and FDA regulatory labeling, required
**Software:
**Genesis or similar nutritional software, strongly preferred

$55,000 - $70,000/year + up to 10% annual bonus
