Food Development Specialist: Monticello, WI

Our client is seeking a Food Development Specialist to support product development initiatives within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in bringing new products to market by executing technical workflows across formulation, food safety, sensory evaluation, and regulatory compliance. The Food Technologist will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products are safe, scalable, and aligned with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support product development through formulation, testing, and scale-up activities

• Conduct sensory evaluations and contribute to shelf-life validation programs

• Perform risk assessments and ensure adherence to HACCP and food safety standards

• Review raw materials for functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance

• Develop and maintain Nutrition Facts Panels and ingredient statements in line with FDA requirements

• Execute shelf-life, stability, and microbiological studies

• Troubleshoot formulations and support transition from R&D to production

• Act as a point of contact for food safety and quality-related inquiries

• Evaluate flavor, texture, and overall product quality using both technical knowledge and culinary insight

Skills & Experience:

• **Education

  **: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Dairy Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Food Engineering, Culinary Science, etc.), REQUIRED

• **Experience

  **: 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, R&D, or product development, REQUIRED

• **Knowledge:

  **Strong knowledge food safety, shelf-life validation, and FDA regulatory labeling, required

• **Software:

  **Genesis or similar nutritional software, strongly preferred

Pay:

$55,000 - $70,000/year + up to 10% annual bonus
